He founded Seascape Capital Management, LLC in 2003 as a platform from which to offer individual and institutional investors his proprietary investment strategies based on exacting investment selection criteria and quantitative models. Today, he oversees the firm’s SeaPort® Portfolio Management System, an exclusive process that embodies the firm’s core strength in managing portfolios of individual equity securities. Prior to founding Seascape, Mr. McCarthy served as a Senior Vice President/Senior Portfolio Manager for the Private Portfolio Group at CitiGroup Global Markets from 1985 to 2003. He earned the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) Designation in 1987, and the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation in 2001 from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. ![]() Monica Ness, CFA®, is Principal and a senior financial services professional with comprehensive experience in investments, research and portfolio management, as well as in business management, legal and compliance issues. Prior to joining Seascape in 2005 as Senior Portfolio Manager and Chief Compliance Officer, she created and managed two Boston-based investment management firms; and most recently served as Chief Investment Officer for the investment advisory arm of Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP, a major Boston law firm where she led a team of analysts in investment strategy, process and research. Ms. Ness’s past analytical work includes the development of a proprietary quantitative stock ranking system. She was awarded a CFA® Charter, a MBA from the University of South Carolina and a BA from the University of Virginia in economics. Kristen Noyes joined Seascape Capital Management in 2009 as Investment Services Manager. Kristen ensures that our clients have a positive experience with both our firm and custodians. From account opening to account services requests, she acts as a liaison to fulfill and exceed client expectations. Additionally, Kristen is responsible for overseeing the accounting and human resource functions of the company. Kristen joined Seascape after serving many years in the banking industry. Her prior positions held were AVP – Human Resources at Community Bank & Trust Company, VP – Human Resources at Meredith Village Savings Bank and most recently VP – Retail Banking & Human Resources at GreatWaters Bank & Trust Company. Kristen earned her Bachelors degree in Accounting from Suffolk University in Boston, MA. Ms. Noyes enjoys spending time with her family and is a dedicated athlete and coach.
Kate Pinard joined Seascape Capital Management in 2005 as Investment Systems Administrator. Her primary responsibility is the maintenance of client relationship and investment management systems used by Seascape on a daily basis. Ms. Pinard also interacts daily with both custodians and clients to ensure the integrity of incoming data as well as customer satisfaction. She is key to maintaining the tools that allow the principals of the firm to focus on doing the best job they can for Seascape’s clients. Ms. Pinard joined Seascape most recently from Citizens Bank where she spent seven years progressing through a variety of operational positions. Her responsibilities included daily account reconciliation, training staff, performing account in-line transfers and a multitude of independent projects. Ms. Pinard is a devoted reader and, since joining the firm, has developed quite a talent for graphics software. |
